Margareta Fratila
Ms. Margareta Fratila will serve as a board member for Project Meridian Foundation.
Margareta Fratila A native of Romania, Margareta first arrived to the US on November 23, 1981 and began her new journey in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 16, 1982. Her ambitions are to share her diverse knowledge with people of all races and religions all over the world.
Margareta has a Master of Science degree in Horticulture and Agriculture from Horticultural University of Bucharest, Romania. She then became the CEO of an experimental horticulture farm in Tirgoviste, Romania until 1981. This farm was on government property where she managed 10,000 acres and 3,000 employees.
President George and Barbara Bush sponsored and assisted immigrating Margareta and her two children to the US, Margareta accomplished one of her dreams and opened her own business called Margaret’s Greenhouse and European Floral Design which is a full service flower shop, interior and landscape design. She is also an instructor in Floral Design and Horticulture at Delmar College in Corpus Christi.
Not only is she certified in International Bridal Floral Design, but Margareta is also a Certified Mediator for Nueces County Courthouse in Texas, the founder and manager of Partnership Real Estate Company, Director and shareholder of Public Relation and Community Liaison for TEXSCAN MRI, and the Executive Producer/Co-owner of International Talent Agency in Studio City, California.
Margareta is also a member of Corpus Christi Country Club where she is the Wine Steward/Hostess, Banquet Supervisor and founder of the Gourmet Society and Wine Club.
Margareta is a proud mother of two: Antonio Fratila is a Medical Resident of UT at Houston, Texas and a Doctor in Medicine who graduated with honors from UT Austin in Microbiology. Ana Maria Fratila has a Masters in Professional Accounting with emphasis in Spanish. She too graduated with honors from UT Austin. As Margareta encourages education, she has studied several languages and can speak French, English, Russian, Latin and German along with her native voice of Romanian. She is also writing a book, "A Flight to Freedom" which is the story of her own struggles as an immigrant and the fight to accomplish her dreams in the free world.
Margareta is a sociable and knowledgeable woman who gives 100 percent effort in several areas of her community. She is a member of the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle and Presidential Round Table, Platinum member of the Republican Presidential Task Force, member of Americans for Prosperity, Texas State Society of Washington, D.C., Republican Women’s Club, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, among several others.
Margareta has proved her success in leadership abilities, business management and her endless principles and moral values. She believes that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER and that everyone can overcome their struggles through education and beliefs, and that individuals should follow their dreams by taking steps of faith.
